This is the first straightforward spammer / data collector that I've seen in the Fediverse.
Am I late to the party?
This is the first straightforward spammer / data collector that I've seen in the Fediverse. Am I late to the party? "The Fediverse is no longer individual apps ... it's an integrated system ... how do we make an integrated system work that works like any other social network but still functions in a distributed way". @benpate in his #FediForum demo. Could not agree more. Not simple, on a technical, product, and particularly organizational level. How do we do this? Donated to IFTAS. If you care about the #Fediverse being a better place, consider donating, too. Their work on Trust & Safety for the Fediverse is unmatched and so important. We need to keep building, keep paying the bills, and keep paying the people doing the work. I have never asked for money; my goal was to take our founding grants and demonstrate our capability, build trust, and put some wins on the board. I believe weβve done that. Next we will build toward self sustainability, and my plan is to get there in three years. You can help me achieve that by donating to the IFTAS fundraiser: https://about.iftas.org/donate

@j12t Politicians often start with: "Let me be clear: ..." Is that some kind of magic incantation that gets the likeability up or recall by the audience, or why is that? Watching the recorded presentation about Mastodon adoption by German public broadcaster ARD and NDR from #berlinfediday, by @millerntorpirat Quite interesting. A very similar story as we have heard from many other publishers and media orgs: they have far fewer followers in the Fediverse than Twitter etc., but engagements per follower is 10x that, and the conversations are of far higher quality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=Ieihyq3JbWs starting 3:48:00 (in German) He says that nobody on in the #Fediverse is interested in posts about soccer in Germany. Ha! I've been going through #FediForum tagged posts this morning, now that our September event is over, and I'm flabbergasted about all the good and nice and lovely things attendees have been saying about it. It's work, and comes with a bit of trepidation, to put a thing out into the world -- a product, an event ... --- you have very little idea what will happen, and it is soooo gratifying to see that people love it. Somehow I had missed the "Womp Triangle" created by @andypiper based on an idea by @deadsuperhero at the previous #fediforum https://www.womptriangle.online/ Proof that FediForum , I strongly assure you, is a very serious conference dealing only with very serious matters. I was at #FediForum as a #FediForumAttendee and it was so energising! Lovely to see people onscreen instead of online! I finally attended my first #FediForum. It was incredible to connect with so many inspiring people keen to βmove the Fediverse forwardβ. Looking forward to the next one β¨π Thank you @j12t and team! Heard of the #MastodonForHarris campaign that raised over half a million of dollars for the Harris campaign? Here's the graph how it has gone down. Just shared by @tchambers and @heidilifeldman at #Fediforum. If interested in kicking in a contribution, which goes directly to Harris for President, here's the link: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mastodon-for-harris @j12t @tchambers @heidilifeldman ππππππππππππππ As usual, I want to go to at least 3 sessions in parallel at #FediForum. Every single slot!! At least we get notes. Organizing an event is lots of work, much of it pretty basic, like corralling people and making sure everything that needs doing is being done and done on time. Not so much fun ... However ...(cont'd) Other stuff is really exciting, however. Like interacting with the people who brim with enthusiasm for the opportunity to demo the Fediverse software they have been building, often with lots of sweat over many months or even longer. Doing copy-paste into Bluesky from time to time. It's nice Threads and Mastodon have the same text limits, but Bluesky's is seriously limiting -- to me at least. |
@j12t congratulations! report & block?
