On the left is AP object returned by FChannel, on the right is AP object returned by Pleroma. ActivityPub is such a clusterfuck those two might as well be separate protocols, just with similar vocabulary.

Or just fucking use any proper private chat protocol like XMPP with pluggable encryption suites. ActivityPub is not private and was never supposed to be so, scopes are nothing more than a mere suggestion.
