Today I'm taking a train from Bristol to Edinburgh so I can attend #Geomob this evening. I cycled to Bristol Temple Meads and arrived at 08:08, locking up my bike with time to spare. It was a pleasant surprise to use the peak time entrance, which is usually closed when I'm here. My train, initially two linked services from Plymouth, arrived six minutes early and split at Temple Meads. Train travel is just more civilised than flying. No cramped spaces, no duty-free shops at every turn. Plus, I didnβt need to endure the usual two-hour airport waitβjust a quick 15 minutes at the station before boarding, and we travel city centre to city centre. Itβs these details that make train travel not just a journey, but a pleasure. Enjoyed #Geomob London just over a week ago! Celebrated OpenStreetMap's 20th anniversary at UCL with inspiring talks on humanitarian mapping, street-level imagery, and AI-assisted projects. Great catching up with the community over #geobeers afterward. Felt nostalgic meeting someone born in 2006βthe same year I attended my first OSM mapping party! Excited for Geomob Edinburgh tomorrow! Bags are packed, and I'm on my way to Heathrow. Heading to Debconf in Busan, Korea π°π·, followed by Wikimania in Katowice, Poland π΅π±. #Debconf #DebConf24 #Wikimania #Busan #Katowice #BristolTempleMeads #BagsPacked #TechConference #ConferenceTravel #TravelAddict I'm at Heathrow Terminal 5. #conferencetravel #londonHeathrow #terminal5 #britishairways #DebConf #wikimania #traveladdict Will you find yourself in Barcelona tomorrow (Wednesday) with a fondness for maps? If that sounds like you, I'd love to invite you to Geomob. I'll be discussing the integration of #OpenStreetMap with #Wikidata, showcasing how these connections enrich both platforms. https://thegeomob.com/post/feb-7th-2024-geomobbcn-details Join us to explore the synergy between geography and data! ππ Absolutely loved #FOSDEM as usual. Although I didn't present this year (having shared my insights in previous years, 2019 and last year), I decided to take a more laid-back approach this time around, feeling I had less new material to contribute. But, for those who will be in #Barcelona this Wednesday, I'm excited to invite you to Geomob Barcelona. I'll be discussing the integration of links between #OSM and #Wikidata β a topic I'm passionate about. Hope to see you there! |
@edward Wish I could be there, Ed! Sounds like a blast!
@edward Did not expect you to host it this time! See you in Brussels :)
