Intel's HDCP HDMI/DP handshake is a broken solution to "protect digital content owner's rights" that causes nightmarish debugging scenarios when equipment does not correctly perform the handshake in the correct order. It's a pain in the ass to deal with and it can easily be defeated anyways. It only hurts legitimate users and does nothing to stop unauthorized replication of media.

DRM in physical cables is an affront to humanity.
