Gregory's ServerFinally had some time to process my photos of the polarized solar corona during the 2024-4-8 total eclipse. Shown here in false colour, the linear polarization angle is encoded into colour.
The corona's polarization is perpendicular to the radius.
From 12 colour photos taken between 15:27:46 and 15:29:28 with f/5.6; ISO-250; f = 128 mm; four exposure times 1/50, 1/5, 1, 2.5 sec. with three polarizations each: vertical (zenith toward top of image), +60°, et -60°.
Corona as seen with the naked eye, but with reduced contrast to highlight the long filaments.
