Oh. Hm. Well, there are *some* positive things to say about this.
a) some US Americans do know where Ukraine is
b) or at least they pointed somewhere close...
c) pretty much all US Americans questioned know that Ukraine is not in Mexico, Italy, Somalia, or in Oceania & some other countries (So I hope that means they know *something* about those countries/regions? No? You mean, Somalia was just luck? Well 🤷♀️ )
d) at least Afghanistan and Iraq are now familiar to them, so they pointed at those (No wait, they didn't - they pointed at Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan instead. And at the Caspian Sea?! Oh dear. I give up.)
(To be fair, I see that the source is not clear here and it's supposed to be based on some survey from 2014. So the results would probably be different now. And please don't ask me to point at a specific US state or so. 😇 )
