@onlmaps British school history (from someone who went through it): "We abolished slavery in 1807, atoned for our sins by fighting slavery around the world, and became a force for good, spreading civilisation and prosperity. We did not do anything bad after that. At all. After WW2 our commonwealth was finally ready to stand on its own and we selflessly gave them the gift of independence. In truth, we should have stayed in charge. Look at the state of them without us there."
