 @globalmuseum People think about the Roman Empire all the time, but how many are managing the Y3K problem? @globalmuseum I've been concepting a new calendar with 25772-year cycles called polareons, based on Earth's axial precession. Earth's axial tilt will align with Polaris in 2100 (Gregorian), which will be the year 0 (Polareon) as it will start the next polareon. Thus the current 2025 (Gregorian) is 25697 (Polareon). In 2012, French beekeepers encountered an unusual phenomenon when they discovered blue and green #honey in their hives. This strange coloration immediately aroused the interest and curiosity of beekeepers, and they went in search of the cause. In their investigations, they found that the bees were collecting colored sugar from a nearby M&M factory. The factory had left remnants of colored sugar in the candy manufacturing process, and the bees had used this sugar as a food source.

SHE DID IT AGAIN! Wisdom, the worldโs oldest known wild bird, is back with a new partner and just laid yet another egg. At an approximate age of 74, the queen of seabirds returned to Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge last week and began interacting with a male.

@globalmuseum I love the way she's laying on her egg, girl knows what she's doing ๐คฉ   Pearlescent shell of the nautilus ~ a tentacled marine mollusc related to the octopus ~ delicately carved with floral tendrils by Cornelis Bellekin in late 17th century. In medieval times it was common to have โ2โ sleeps per night. You would fall asleep for 4 to 5 hours, wake up for 2 hours or so and fall back to sleep for another 3 to 4. Itโs been suggested that we may have evolved this way to tend to the fire in order to keep us warm and safe.  First and second sleep! I wonder if their dog got up with them or just stayed on the bed and kept it warm for when they got back in? @globalmuseum me when the alarm goes off: This window is over 400 years old. It's the perfect example of a "jali", an intricately carved stone window common in Indian Architecture. When I first arrived in Japan there was little awareness and the overuse of pesticides and chemicals in rice paddies and industry had nearly caused all the fireflies to disappear entirely.
