In medieval times it was common to have ā2ā sleeps per night. You would fall asleep for 4 to 5 hours, wake up for 2 hours or so and fall back to sleep for another 3 to 4. Itās been suggested that we may have evolved this way to tend to the fire in order to keep us warm and safe.  First and second sleep! I wonder if their dog got up with them or just stayed on the bed and kept it warm for when they got back in? @globalmuseum me when the alarm goes off: This window is over 400 years old. It's the perfect example of a "jali", an intricately carved stone window common in Indian Architecture.
