A group of small farmers, crofters and crafters located in the Scottish Highlands have started Highland Wool CIC, to support a sustainable wool industry in Scotland.
My friend Donna has set up this fundraiser to buy & refurbish a wool picker, a carding machine, and assorted other pieces of equipment. They will also renovate a 200+ year old dilapidated stone barn and transform it into a mini-mill which uses sustainable energy.

@SiobhanVohn@sjgochenour I always find it interesting how the state of the art for wool processing (below extremely large scale) is 100-year old equipment.
