Just watched @dpk 's presentation from ELS this year about the status of R7RS-Large. Very interesting results, and it looks like we'll actually see a Scheme standard that continues where R6RS was going.

The macro stuff looks good, but the thing I'm the most excited about? Standardised delimited continuations!

Do any of you know what programmer types mean by 'post-modern'? I've seen the term used quite a bit over the last year or so, in contexts where it makes no sense to me (no deconstruction or self-reference or particular irony, etc etc)

The latest sighting that inspired the post is https://github.com/helix-editor/helix which confusingly describes itself as a post-modern modal text editor. My inner Derrida is confused.

Does anyone I know have opinions on the Thinkpad P50 (to run Linux)? It seems like a pretty good compromise of things I'm looking for in a laptop: the 4K screen option, decent battery life, swappable batteries and generally serviceable parts, the possibility of a second SSD, a reasonable weight, and an Ethernet jack.

Are there downsides I may be unaware of?
