@fsf The answer is absolutely yes, but many people still think GNU GPL equals noncommercial, which is incorrect
The best example I think is Ardour, which is licensed under GNU GPLv2. Source code are free, but binary files are paid

My son was also getting a Chromebook at school (and required to have an iPad long ago).

But he simply; "Don't use that outside school", "Why?", "Sure they are spying on us."

Hopefully, thinking kids can work this out with a bit of help.
