A small, very old, grass roof hut/building in Iceland. It's got a grass mound wall and a couple of trees inside of this.

It's isolated in a rather flat green grass field. In the background some large mountains can be seen rising into the clouds (Some have snow). There is very little blue sky showing between the heavy white and grey clouds overhead.

Yesterday we went on a hike to a nearby fortress - Forte de São Filipe (1582), Setúbal and on the path up stumbled upon a colony of cats! 🐈🐈‍⬛

It's my understanding that the cat colonies in this area (and many other districts) are looked after by associations and NGO's - with TNR (Trap, neuter, release) in place, microchipped, with regular feeding and care.

So, cats, a cool fortress, and back into the flow with a small hike - it was a good day 😊

A historic fortress (Forte de São Filipe) on top of a hill thats covered s lush greenery. The sky is overcast and dim.

A curious colony of cats we found on our hike, in the photo are four cats, three of which are looking at me/the camera, with the fouth in the background rolling around on the stone and foliage floor.

One of the cats in this large'ish colony we found (15+ cats), this one is small and mostly white/grey, with bright blue eyes - they were meowing the moment this photo was taking and they're resting on fresh green grass and wild flowers.

A closer up shot of the stonework on the fortress (Forte de São Filipe) with too walls converging in to a corner, the walls are high with large arched entrances/windows near the corners - the base of the fortress is overgrown with plants.
