Wow, just got asked to take part in an academic research project on privacy policies in the #Fediverse. In order to do so I'm asked to fill in a Google Form. 🤦

There's something painfully naïve about this. I've responded offering to help them find a more appropriate replacement technology (I have a few #LibreSoftware options I can offer).

For my Facebook friends, I recommend that we start breaking away from Facebook by using decentralised, anti-corporate, community-run, open source social media like Mastodon (see https://joinmastodon.org) and eventually leave FB's shareholders and Zuck to their own devices... without our help. What do you reckon?

It's really disappointing to see that Microsoft are forcing all Minecraft users to create MSFT accounts to continue using the service. Just had to help my boys make the shift, which is pretty soul destroying. It sets them up for creeping data gathering and further exploitation by MSFT.
