@J12t I don’t know. In some cases I’ve alienated friends for being contrarian. And others I’ve made new friends.

I also have come to dislike the term “devil’s advocate” because it frames one perspective as being right and one as being necessarily wrong or adversarial. The framing doesn’t sit well with me.

To me it’s more about critical thinking, tolerance for others with different perspectives, and openness to let people evolve their opinions.
