Which percentage of people you interact with on a regular basis can make both sides of an argument on some important issue?

I don’t mean not having an opinion, but have the capacity to make and win a devil’s argument because they understand the other side’s reasoning very well?

@J12t I don’t know. In some cases I’ve alienated friends for being contrarian. And others I’ve made new friends.

I also have come to dislike the term “devil’s advocate” because it frames one perspective as being right and one as being necessarily wrong or adversarial. The framing doesn’t sit well with me.

To me it’s more about critical thinking, tolerance for others with different perspectives, and openness to let people evolve their opinions.
