Good group to ask this question would be the Blender Foundation.
In the late 90's, Blender was a proprietary professional animation suite that was competing with Adobe.
They did an #ExitToCommunity which is why it's now FLOSS. :D
There are still some early show-reels out there from ad agencies that were using Blender then, and are continuing to use Blender now. :D
I remember seeing the BaskinRobbins animated fridge ad on TV, and later finding it on Youtube. :D
@BillySmith @Jeramee @lps @blender Just a question, doesn't blender has plenty of animated films created and uploaded on their YouTube channel "Blender studio" to showcase the capabilities of blender like Spring, Charge, Sprite fright. I think the recent one "Charge" was great.
