If you want to learn how to run a social network correctly, look more into Dan Gackle's approach (he runs news.ycombinator.com pretty much solo as dang). Not sure what his sauce is, but that's literally THE way to run a high-quality social media platform.

There's a never-ending decay for any social group, and leadership is the necessary hedge-trimming to keep the vision going.
