Took the kids to Melbourne Museum today to see 'Relics', a temporary exhibition depicting a post-apocalyptic world where LEGO minifigs have risen from the debris to craft new civilisations in discarded human artefacts.

I have to say that this repurposed old Space Invaders cab certainly caught my eye.

@imalcolm that's awesome! What's going on in the coin slot but at the bottom? Looks like a lab or something

@COMPU73E

Yeah it was a laboratory! Unfortunately my only close up shot of that bit is blurry as - you get a better idea by zooming in on this shot unfortunately! ðŸĪŠ

Edit: On closer examination and after discussion with my partner, the bit at the bottom was a kind of hydroponics lab.

@imalcolm yeah it looks like they're growing plants, probably for food to survive the apocalypse

Nice attention to detail!

It was pretty sweet. I even got weird nostalgia from the 20c coin slots. 😉

@imalcolm oh man, what a cool installation!

Either part is amazing on its own — the custom #LEGO builds, using arcade cabinets as found/reclaimed objects — but to combine them? ðŸ‘ĻðŸŧ‍ðŸģ💋

Thanks for sharing, I never would have heard of this otherwise!
