This reminds me back when a PC software maker (Norton, I think) kept calling the free and very useful 'hacker tool' utility Back Orifice 2000 illegal and bad but offered the exact same functionality in a software package *they* sold for money.

Big companies think something can only be 'legal' or 'good' or 'acceptable' or 'reliable' if they can make money from it.
