@CiaraNi Bank clerks telling you to your face that you should be using online banking to do this. Because they’ve been trained to make themselves redundant and close down the branch.
@Nickiquote You've pinpointed one of the extra depressing aspects of all this - staff being forced to enforce technological process that should at a minimum be optional for customers and that are costing the staff their jobs. I rarely go into my bank, we do all the work online ourselves, and the last three times I needed to, I was literally pointed to the public online banking machine in the understaffed public area.
