 @chris @gamingonlinux the term "Boomer Shooter" came from others trying to categorize Dusk, a game by New Blood Interactive "Boomer Shooter" then became a joke, being adopted by New Blood themselves and now officially having become a category on Steam. @chris@social.uggs.io @gamingonlinux@mastodon.social "a shooter that goes boom" rather than "a shooter played by boomers" I know what Doom and Duke Nuke'm are. Played them in the '90s. I imagine they're #BoomerShooter games because they're shooters, & were around when Boomers were in their 30s, having LAN-game parties @ the office while telling their spouses they were "working late". But I wonder what characteristics you'd use to classify something as a BoomerShooter.    @gamingonlinux the best shooters imo. I love that you also got a quote from the legendary Andrew Hulshult. |
@gamingonlinux But isn't Boomer the wrong generation for DOOM? I think generation X/Y was DOOM?
