If you don't count Z80 assembler (?!) Pascal was my first 'modern' language after BASIC in the early 90s. It carried me many many years before I finally (FINALLY!) took the leap to C and Allegro/DJGPP later in the decade. Not sure where I'd be today without those early Borlandian steps. 🍻
