If you are part of our TestFlight Beta, we pushed update 1.8.1 which features completely revamped polls and a few other things. Give it a shot and let us know your thoughts! No new TestFlight openings, but we are working hard to get this release finished and out to everyone! *Note about TestFlight Subs: TestFlight doesn't read your app store sub and so you must subscribe in TestFlight if it asks. @alwynispat No we plan to revamp the notifications tab so that the mentions tab can be removed completely. 🙃 It's a known problem that will be fixed.

@ivory Will that new notifications tab sync between iOS and macOS? After I read new mentions on iOS, they are still unread on macOS. I therefore currently have to read every mention twice.

@davidculley it’s a bug we have to fix. They should be syncing between each other.

I totally understand if there still are bugs here or there, seeing how shitty you were sadly treated by Twitter and how abruptly you had to build this app from the ground up under immense stress. @Cafeine Sounds good. And if it happens again, try to remember the exact steps you took for it to happen. That way even if we can't see what happened, we can try to replicate the scenario on our end and see if it does it for us.

@bradr3d nope. We had to change lists awhile back because of various TestFlight limitations. At one point we had 2 lists.

@bradr3d possibly if we don’t get enough feedback. We’ve actually been pretty bad about pushing betas to TestFlight so a lot of users just installed the App Store version again. That was the reason for the post earlier. But if there aren’t a lot of TestFlight users, we will potentially open it up some more.

@SeanMooney you can! Just create a custom timeline filter (in the filter icon on the far left of the icons you mentioned). Add a rule to “show polls”.

@SeanMooney if you want to test out polls a bit easier, you can go to the explore page and do a search for polls and go to the #poll hashtag list (or tap my hashtag link 🙃).

@zmk text sizes have always been the same. It’s part of our system to make embedded text slightly smaller in those rectangles. The truncated text is a bug that we fixed, just not in the public build yet. 🙂

@ivory I read about the change to image attachments in regard to captions → alt text and they seem like a good change, but I immediately thought of *many* captions I have on my pictures that would leak private info to the web! Just using the caption text without a confirmation step seems potentially … dangerous? 🤔 How about prompt like "would you like to use caption text 'x' as alt text?" Yes/No

@oelna valid point. We can think about it. But our thought was, if the caption is private, most likely the image would be too and the user probably would post that in the first place?

@ivory so sorry! Ivory works fine, I was complaining about the wrong client on the wrong social network to the wrong people! Completely unrelated: please consider doing a client for BlueSky. I am not sure if it is going to be a good social network, but it definitely needs a better iOS client. :- )

@ivory Polls really bothered me with Ivory. Especially because multi-answer polls just weren't supported. I really like the new way this is handled. Looks clean and works good so far. Thank you for the effort! Also big thumbs up for the reading of the image description for alt text!

@schalksernst yes it can be harder to decipher links visually, but not much we can do about that. It’s been fine in practice though because a seasoned user will know what is a link when reading it. It’s just another choice for those who want something different. 🙂

@ivory I've noticed a UI issue on iPad Mini (iOS 17.3b2) using the latest Ivory 1.8.1 build — the "Search" field on the Explore tab has a weird color treatment in both light and dark modes.
