 I was considering writing up that Link's Awakening DX HD but what’s the point: we all knew Nintendo would nuke it. And now they have. Better to highlight original indie games that often go unnoticed than yet another Nintendo fan game rip that will be nuked. 9 comments

Now I have it downloaded. #streisandeffect @gamingonlinux If you are interested there is this developer on youtube making a game inspired by the N64 Legend of Zelda games called Legend 64.  @gamingonlinux Yeah, I don’t like that Polygon called it out, especially with a knowing “ooh, wonder when Nintendo will kill this?!”. Well, probably imminently now…   @gamingonlinux I don't know if its technically feasible to do a Ship of Harkinian with a Gameboy rom, but that's the only way a game like that should've been published. Incredibly stupid to ship it with all the original art & assets. @gamingonlinux like just make an indie game that's almost the exact same gameplay of the other game you like! people love that! hollow knight, stardew valley, the dozens of earthbound-inspired RPGs stop getting at the hornets stinging the person who stuck their face in their nest |

I don't understand why anyone would invest so much time and effort into a project they know is doomed. It's not even an example of Nintendo being particularly vicious. Just basic copyright infringement.
