Gregory's ServerI have to admit this year has been destructively stressful for me. I wish I could feel some sense of accomplishment about work done, but it's just not there, just this sense of a million other things that are urgently overdue and another million I'm forgetting.

@Gargron Anyway, many thanks for your efforts on our behalf. @Gargron you’ve done great work all year long! There will always be something else to do.  @Gargron OK. Full stop. You've onboarded millions of new users to a distributed social media platform. You've launched a major release of the platform. You've gotten married, and now you're sheparding the largest social media company in the world to be interoperable with your platform. If you don't feel a sense of accomplishment after all that my friend, I fear you never will.  @Gargron The way I reduced stress at my 9-5 job was by taking it one day at a time. I plan for the future at work but don't worry or think about it until that day. This single thing has helped me in many ways. Getting in that mindset can be a bit difficult, but if you can it does wonders.  @Gargron appreciate all that you and your team have done. I was a heavy Twitter user but a year ago I was glad that there was an alternative that I could try since the situation had changed to one that I was having trouble stomaching.  @Gargron This has got to be just because you are too close to it. I joined in 4/22 but did not fully switch until 10/22. As of now, as an average user, I’m sure I could think of things if I spent 30 minutes thinking about it, but overall it is fully baked for me. There is nothing I feel is urgently missing. Take a breath and be proud of what you all have built and rest easy.  @Gargron Joining in the many people saying how incredibly grateful they are for all you've done. Please take care of yourself; there will always be more to do, and you can't solve everything all at once.  @Gargron you did/do great job. Mastodon is a great place to be. You deserve a break. Enjoy the holiday season and the time with your loved ones.  @Gargron I'm sorry you feel this way. I appreciate your work and the time and effort you put into it.  @Gargron Late as usual, but Mastodon has been an amazing safe haven for all the Twitter refugees, and hopefully you can take some small comfort in that. I think what you have done is enough for now if you need time to rest and regroup. It is stable and very, very usable. |
