@rotopenguin@mastodon.social no, they're making it a cloud only platform so there will no longer be a Windows option at all
@rotopenguin@mastodon.social @nixCraft@mastodon.social I remember trying to get it running under wine to try and fix up an iPhone but I ended up wasting 3 hours and there's now a hole in the wall the size of my head @nixCraft sometimes I get fed up troubleshooting a native Linux game and just grab the Windows release and plunk it into Proton fuckin' love Proton :blobfoxmeltsoblove: @nixCraft sure they took away Rocket League but we will always have BZFLAG @nixCraft Except for the last image, generally agree. People's laziness leads to creating more and more compatibility layers instead of creating a native application. That's life ) But that doesn't mean we shouldn't pay attention to the fact that we want more and more native applications to appear, instead of just being satisfied that something can be run by spending a lot of resources on compatibility. |
@nixCraft Using DEs instead of WMs: rely on fancy stuff
using GUI instead of terminal: ignore the basics
using pkgs instead of compiling: rely too much on downstream and you learn nothing
