Gregory's Server@WecanbeGyros This is becoming a general social problem, I think. I'm excluded from information from a few groups I'm a real-life member of because they only use Facebook. And I can't access info from some small local companies. Even aside from the principles of using corporate sites like Facebook, platforms come and go, it seems shortsighted to put all your eggs in one billionaire's basket.

@WecanbeGyros Government agencies and institutions that serve wider communities should at the very least create their own Fediverse server. Keep all their other platforms until they go down if they must, but ensure there's one independent place where they control their own information forever and anyone can access it. |
@CiaraNi now in the USA there are cases in court against Facebook and Instagram because it causes harm to children. This should make government agencies and schools leave. I'd say half of us do not use Facebook. I will not.
