@nixCraft most probably the one on the left, kindly informing that there are better options than Wintendo. Can't cure stupid. @nixCraft I use linux because I am a linux user.
I am a linux user because I use linux. this is not inherently good or evil, merely the way things are. @nixCraft I'm the "I hate it, but sometimes I get told to use it, and it's not actually a resigning matter, like being told to write, or even read, Perl would be". @nixCraft Definitely the one on the left. Also - with so many distros, you cannot go wrong. It's fun trying them all out on distrosea.com @nixCraft The small ugly one. I enjoy reminding everyone that the most important thing about Linux is Free Software Principles that guarantee it freedom. Even if Linux never has the mainstream apps it's doesn't matter. Nothing is more important than user freedom. Stallman really WAS right. And we need these principles now now then ever because there is a trek threat that eventually Linux will just become like Windows and run everything proprietary and that systemd will become like the damn windows registry. @nixCraft OK, I boosted it for the alt text. What is it with memes that say "are you this or that" with two choices that come nowhere near partitioning the space? @nixCraft @nixCraft used to love FreeBSD but it became such a fucking mess to install on new hardware so I switched to Linux, which works on anything that use electricity, but it is messy :) I would never recommend any user of windows to switch to Linux, (anymore), I have done enough support, and most people can work windows, some needs apps that only work on windows (even IF they could be made to work on Linux, there will always be support to be done later), so, most probably the first good doggo. I use Linux because it sucks bit less for me than the alternatives. @nixCraft the kind who installs it and after a while they arenβt going to live long enough to make it just work @nixCraft Also I do think that you could be using the "wrong" distro, not that everyone should what I use, but that different distros suit different use cases better. Like I wouldn't give my siblings gentoo or arch Used Linux for several years on my desktop, until it died. I really liked Linus. Since I like to play Steam games, I am now stuck with windows. Not fond of using windows but? @nixCraft lol, the looser in the third slide saying I use windows. I used Linux sense I was 15 for many years, then I decided I hated dealing with dependencies @nixCraft I'm the golden retriever; partly because I don't know enough about linux minutia to be as angry as the chihuahua. @nixCraft there is only one real answer just run linux like that fireball meme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MgAhJvmc3s π€£ @nixCraft I'm the "I run both Linux AND WIndows" guy. Linux is my main OS since a few months ago, but I still run Windows on some occasions incase there's an app that has no Linux version. I don't feel like using Wine. @nixCraft I've been a happy Labrador since a stack of SLS floppy disks in 1992. Ubuntu since 2005. But I do hate Windows. @nixCraft We were taught at school (a long time ago) that there are no other systems except Windows. The office is only from |
@nixCraft Am I allowed to *look like* the rabid dog, while acting like the golden retriever??
