Lecturing me every time I say "Mastodon" with "hurr it's fediverse ACKSHULLY" is really fucking annoying.
You know what I mean, it will get you muted.

@gamingonlinux same as "you're not using Linux, you're using gnu/Linux" aarrgh Because did you know, Linux is not a complete os by itself? /s @gamingonlinux gonna be real "fediverse" sounds really dumb and I've actively just chosen "mastodon" @gamingonlinux I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're refering to as Mastodon, is in fact, Fediverse/Mastodon, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Fediverse plus Mastodon. Mastodon is not a social network unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning Fediverse made useful by all the different instances and users comprising a full social network as defined by ActivityPub. @gamingonlinux You may want to answer its HTTP ackhually, but the TCP/IP crowd might jump in, out of nowhere, enlarging the infinite circle of pain 🫥 @gamingonlinux I'm looking forward to the federation of Threads, and the subsequent influx of users who don't know that Mastodon exists. Like, unironically. @gamingonlinux People really like to get lost in the weeds of semantics, huh? It's like, who cares what you call it? Both are technically correct. @gamingonlinux |

The 'ackshually' crowd is the worst. Language is for communicating and we all know what it means.
