Which one is correct? Most people choose wrong!

@nikitonsky 2 and 4 "look right" to me. When viewed in isolation like that, at least. But I somehow don't remember which way is actually correct, even though I've seen it countless times.

4, but I prefer open tail variant when writing by hand

@danilax86 I don’t think anyone can actually hand-write this form

@nikitonsky @danilax86 I actually write this form when I'm in the mood, and I was in the mood today.

@bouncepaw show me your handwriting with double-storey g or I don’t believe you

@nikitonsky uh oh so recently I thought “Why don't I write Das glasperlenspiel” with serifs, and this happened. See the g. A bit later I'll show you I'd write it without serifs while not in a hurry.

@nikitonsky it's wrong here though hahaha. It's usually correct...

Niki Tonsky

@bouncepaw yeah it’s just a normal single-storey g

Sheffsky

@nikitonsky The second one. Everything should be on the right

James Conroy-Finn

@nikitonsky the fourth is the conventional representation I’m most familiar with.

I’m not sure that makes it correct. Is there a standard that defines what’s wrong here?

Niki Tonsky

@jcf just convention. Tradition, even. Yep it’s 4

Aron Griffis

@nikitonsky Yay, I got something right on the Internet.

@nikitonsky after checking the comments I see the fourth is correct, but.. do you know why does it differ from the other cursive form of g?

this is how I write this:
- starting from the top
- going around to the left and come back to top
- go down and round to the left again
- finishing it by crossing the tail (and move on to the next letter)

based on this I'd have chose the second option!

@pcdevil No, I have no idea. It’s not this one though, a lot of letters are very different in cursive when compared to their print form
