@emilymbender I’m all for level headedness, but I’m off put by use of the terms “doomerism” and “doomers”. Calling your opponents names is unscientific at best.

With tech going at a pace that it does, leaps often happen unexpected to all but a few. Much faster than policy and lawmaking can keep up, so I’d love those to get a headstart. Whether LLMs are a dead end on the AGI road (likely) or not.
