@arstechnica I guess i'm gonna de-rust my programming skills and start contributing to @kde's Falkon @root @arstechnica @kde Not sure how are extensions handled in Falkon, but I think Falkon's engine is QtWebEngine which is based on chromium, so it still suffers from google's decisions afaik @arstechnica The best time to switch to Firefox was the first time you considered it. The second best time is now. Firefox for Android also lets you install extensions, such as uBlock. @snoopfrog @arstechnica I haven't used Chrome as my primary browser for ages, but I suppose this will impact Vivaldi as well since it's chromium-based. I'm giving Firefox a try as my primary browser since I'd previously used it only on a limited basis. It crashed trying to close a private window, and the theme I've applied disappears every couple hours. Otherwise it looks like it might suffice. @snoopfrog @arstechnica My biggest problem with Firefox is that you can't set up password autofill to ask for Windows Hello every time, like how Edge does it. @arstechnica Good time to switch to #Firefox. We need more code diversity in browsers, and other Chromium browsers are all based on the same code. Help keep browser diversity and competition healthy and switch to Firefox today. Say goodbye to Chrome and Google's oppression. @tomhannen they said nothing will change for them. https://mastodon.social/@brave/111433335854894365 @arstechnica @mcc ah, but I will limit Google Chrome starting in June 2023. (By uninstalling it.) @arstechnica "The Electronic Frontier Foundation called Google's description of Manifest V3 "Deceitful and Threatening"" @arstechnica Firefox about to become the number 1 browser. No coincidence this is announced after their last month of unsuccessfully attempting to outwit uBlock on Youtube. Now they are back to block uBlock without admitting that's the whole purpose. |
@arstechnica
Slow suicide by the world's most popular browser. Oh well.
