@tubetime Iāve spent quite a bit of time in Chandler, AZ and I didnāt not know it was the home of Microchip. @tubetime Impressive that it can manage to be both wildly distasteful and anti-competitive. @tubetime Iām fascinated by some of the specifics in this ad. They had just moved to AZ (from NY). The logo (thereās an extra notch in the m) and the device theyāre advertising doesnāt exist. To my knowledge, this is pre-PIC16. @MarkAtMicrochip see page 86 of https://bitsavers.org/magazines/Computer_Design/Computer_Design_V28_N09_19890501.pdf for the article describing the part. The ad is in the same issue. Page 99. @tubetime I finally got around to looking this up. As near as I can tell, it went EOL over 20 years ago. I canāt find much more about it. I didnāt do an exhaustive analysis, but the instruction set looks very similar. |
