You mean I can have tear-free output on my Tiger Lake laptop? This still doesn't work today and as far as I'm aware the relevant PR on xserver has been in limbo for 4 years.
@sfan5 It got merged in January (seriously). I'm not holding my breath that it'll be a great solution though. It's kind of inherently a hack given the X design.
You need to enable it manually with the TearFree option.
