@jab01701mid In response to your question, "Do people pay for MailChimp service and still get this treatment?" the answer is a resounding "yes." @gulovsen Yes, I also noticed earlier today. Do you think that small business users have reason for concern? I am convinced that Intuit is hell bent on world domination, but I see no clear threat to small businesses. @Onlineadviser Not necessarily - I just find the whole thing annoying more than anything. @gulovsen At this point, every TOS update basically translates into โEither you let us fuck you or you're fuckedโ @gulovsen Fuck. That. Shit. Even if nothing else, this would give them legal right to display all your email out to the world with no recourse. *EXCUSE ME?!@?!?!* @gulovsen the funniest part about this is that the end result will be the goofiest and most useless generative model ever. Who the hell buys a model exclusively trained on the kind of annoying and naggy crap that gets sent through mailchimp? โWow, this one can hallucinate broken click-through trackers!!โ I hearby grant all corporations (and their agents, employees, officers, directors, independent contractors, affiliates, subsidiaries, and representatives) a worldwide, non-exclusive, irrevocable, transferable, royalty-free, fully paid-up, sub licensable license to kiss my fucking ass. @gulovsen I tried to find the statement but can't find it on https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/?You have a link? @yichalal @gulovsen the new terms are here, section 30 is the AI stuff. https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/preview/ @gulovsen @gulovsen it explicitly says "Inputs and Outputs" to the AI model. If you write stuff yourself or copy/paste it into emails, this doesn't apply. |
@gulovsen I always wanted to try out something like emailing this to a SaaS provider.
"By allowing me to use your service, you agree that I can ingest the content of your website and use it to train my AI model"
Why is that any less binding than a TOS change notification ?
Other than the fact that you give MailChimp your private data, and maybe they don't care about their IP, as long as they can sell your data...
Do people pay for MailChimp service and still get this treatment ?
