The tech press is picking up on WordPress federation...

PC: Forget Twitter - WordPress.com Blogs Can Now Connect to Mastodon >>> pcmag.com/news/forget-twitter-

"Your blog can take on a new social-media life of its own if you publish it on WordPress.com. This commercial version of the open-source web publishing platform WordPress now offers an ActivityPub option to turn a blog into a fediverse presence on Mastodon and other federated social networks operating on the open standard."

As an example, @mastodonmigration.wordpress.com posts every new entry from WordPress blog mastodonmigration.wordpress.co . Note only new posts are shown, so you will need to follow the account and wait until something new is posted.

If this seems interesting you can create your own WordPress account attached to Mastodon for free by following these steps >>> mastodonmigration.wordpress.co

@mastodonmigration I've connected mine. As I am updating each post, it's showing up in the feed, which is not bad.

@mastodonmigration There is also a plugin for self-hosted WordPress sites that does the same thing.
