A question to @tea lovers. Among established #tea cultures of the world, there is a not-that-famous (at least for me) Turkish tea culture. In Turkey, people regularly drink #redTea, they even have a special dish for it. The taste of tea is piercing, moving further from Indian acerbity and having no sign of Chinese sweetness.

The tea I met is usually tiny cut pieces, which in general is treated as not of a high quality. Is there a whole leaf Turkish tea?

@turbobureaucrat @tea judging by the teas I have tried from my local Turkish supermarket. Turkish tea is usually Ceylon (Sri Lankan) black tea with added aroma. I have no idea what the added aroma is so if anyone knows that I would be very interested to learn. They were delicious as Ceylon teas usually are and the smell was something new to me entirely

@turbobureaucrat Yes, there’s whole-leaf Turkish tea, and that goes for Indian tea as well.

@babelcarp, do you know the links to the online shops?🙂

@turbobureaucrat Sorry, here in NYC it’s so easy to buy Turkish tea from a bricks and mortar store.
