@gamingonlinux I broke my fingernail last time I tried to get the battery out of one.

@gamingonlinux yeah it's pretty hard to get the batteries out of it.

@gamingonlinux yeah, at least 2 of mine need a lot of coaxing to get the batteries out

@gamingonlinux I also use rechargables and I started wrapping tape around them to give them an easy pull tab. One of my steam controllers the battery eject arm was completely broken, but I did it for all of them(I have 4, 3 working) just to prevent further damage and because it was easier.

@gamingonlinux I see you also found out that rechargeable AAs are just a hair taller than the standard.

@gamingonlinux I'm the kinda person to take the batteries out of my controllers because I don't trust myself to actually use the consoles I set up, but I'm super scared to break my nailpolish while trying to take out the batteries everytime lol

@gamingonlinux hopefully the steam controller 2 will have an easier time of it.

One day we'll have one, I STILL BELIEVE!

@gamingonlinux how it compares to "normal" controllers?

The Slight Misgivings

@gamingonlinux I only have this on the right side for some reason. I'm always worried ill pierce the battery or break the controller.

@gamingonlinux Here's a little thing I just recently figured out, use a little bit of ribbon and tape to make a handle and you can pull the battery out with no trouble.

This has saved me so much trouble with mine, I used to have to pry them out with a clothespin before.

A steam controller is pictured with its back cover off and a ribbon with tape is wrapped around the battery to give it a handle.

@Morgansl yeah i think I will start wrapping them in something...

The Slight Misgivings

@gamingonlinux I just discovered a technique for easily getting the batteries out. Press the button to release the battery, push the bottom of the battery in, so that the angle of the battery moves out a bit, press button again. It seems to work everytime.
