@gamingonlinux a couple of games i am quite fond of were built with unity.

But my every impression of the game engine is that its a PoS, that is very accessible to indies. Which is a shame.

@gamingonlinux I have always thought Godot had good potential , and with Godot 4 that potential has only increased. Very passionate and helpful community.

I guess this change might make Godot's (and other engines') community grow. Although learning a new engine might be a deal breaker for some companies, it might not be so for independent game developers or small studios.

@gamingonlinux I had been wanting to give Unity a try after I wrap up my current side projects but now I think I'd be better off checking out other engines.

@gamingonlinux the end is killing it. We can't tell you how we evaluate the number of installs, it's proprietary! Trust us! Oracle licensing level shit.

@gamingonlinux Just checked their forum post and they seem to have updated the answer to the question about reinstalls on forum.unity.com/threads/unity- barely 30 mins ago
(The "has always been" part seems funny considering it was the opposite a few minutes ago)
