It’s weird how many people don’t understand a review is just that one persons opinion.

Why do people seem to make liking a game their whole personality, so they have to shit on reviews that don’t perfectly align with their thoughts? Social media feels like it destroyed IQs.

@gamingonlinux it's pretty much how humans always were.... just turned up to 11 (and above). And this doesn't aim to be a pessimistic thought, just a thought.

@gamingonlinux People hold reviewers to a crazy standard. They act like they're getting personally attacked if their favorite game isn't reviewed the best. I remember a coworker getting almost irate with me when I said I found Breath of the Wild kinda boring... But if they played one of my favorite games they'd hate it too! What does it actually matter at the end of the day? :ElainaCry:

Just my two cents, but this is what happens when culture collapses and is replaced with commercialism.

Commercialism eats at culture while nihilism eats at shared concepts of reality to the point that people have zero identity except for the most shallow and immediate.

Thereby you have gamer bros acting like Attila the Hun and hundreds of thousands of incel*-types hanging on to every word of the likes of Jordan Peterson

*to me, incel has nothing to do with sex. It's attitude.

The "literally who?" gotta "literally who?" and it's a problem as old as social hierarchy.

@gamingonlinux I think it all comes from the fact that today, everything needs to be immediate. People don't think, they react. And they need to react _now_.
It seems today it is nearly _forbidden_ to think bc. you may miss your "reaction time window" and if you don't answer now, your answer post may not be read and you will miss your instant gratification shot.
All this time wasted on evolution only to revert back to our basic reptilian brain...

@gamingonlinux
People want to constantly be in a hive mind nowadays. Constant affirmation that they made the right decision.

@gamingonlinux Narcissism? People can't conceive of others apart from their fragile sense of self?

@gamingonlinux I like to think that when these people were 7 years old they had very intransigent views as to which was the best dinosaur.

@gamingonlinux I once read that there is a parallel of how people treat each other online and how they treat each other in traffic. I totally believe it.
