Can y'all imagine what the #Fediverse would be like if the projects had the kind of funding to enable this scale of development?

Like, the #Fediverse probably has only like a dozen or two dozen core developers, max. Everyone else is just a casual volunteer contributor.

@Gargron right? Like, I'm trying to make my own development and research work sustainable at the moment — I've now a few funding opportunities that are for specific things, but funding is still moving waaay too slow.

Having more than just 2 engineers on the main Mastodon codebase sounds like it'd be amazing.
