“Four very powerful billionaires—Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Marc Andreessen—are creating a world where “nothing is true and all is spectacle.””

Not wrong. What shall we do about that?

@mousey Character flaw on my part. :-) I get very bored when people lament that everything is terrible. I wake up when somebody says "let's do XYZ maybe it helps with problem ABC".

@J12t Wow, a passing mention that Thiel's formative years were in Swakopmund, historically a Nazi refuge. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swakopmu

@J12t the solution is simple. DON'T LOOK. Not up, down, or sideways. But naturally they will make their spectacle shiny, attractive, spectacular, but ultimately just a big gilded turd. So viewer beware.

Seems to me the obvious remedy would be for us to create a world in which the truth prevails, and spectactle happens, but only occasionally, and just for fun.

The #fediverse is a good start, I would think. What's the next step?

I see Dud people!

@J12t Stay away from mainstream media and anything they run?

@J12t With regard to the Oligarchs greedily bringing an end to our Planet, some might say that 229 years between Reigns of Terror is long enough.
