@mattl I don't care. I mean, Jack Dorsey sold his previous platform to a right-wing extremist. Why should I follow him to another platform, which he will also sell?

@unnon89 I sure hope not. Anyway the software is freely licensed people will be able to start their own servers. @mattl Let me say it other: why should I use a platform of a person & help spread it when that person has sold one of the most powerful democratic tools to a right-wing extremist? @unnon89 FWIW Bluesky isn't Jack's platform. Sounds like its not something you'd want to use though, so you don't have to. @unnon89 Unclear where you're based but in the US these payment terminals are super common. @mattl see mastodon instance name ^^ NRW = North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany) And never seen this here. @unnon89 You could live anywhere, your instance name doesn't mean anything :) @mattl ok thats a point but as you can see i post many articles from wa.de/hamm so you have my city and its located in nrw :D for example: https://nrw.social/@unnon89/110282377165309221 @unnon89 It's been a few years since I was in Germany, but I don't remember how most card payments are done there? Do people pay with their phones? @mattl good old physical cash and bank / credit cards. Phones are not yet so widespread, but are being used more and more. We are still stuck in the middle ages as far as that is concerned >.< @unnon89 But people can tap a card to pay? US is often cashless in places now which is chilling @mattl yes but only for a few years. For example most restaurants only take physical cash. Card payment has only been coming on for 2-3 years, at least in our city ^^ |
@unnon89 because it’s not his to sell and it’s a public benefit corporation so I don’t think selling it is easy for anyone involved
