@gamingonlinux

I stopped for a while due to work, and came back forgetting all the terminal tricks I had to do to launch a game in VR on opensuse Tumbleweed, and it just worked! There was an error message, but that was it! Everything worked. Beat Sabering using a 6800XT as well.

The spec requirements appears to make it clear getting a rolling release distribution is probably the best way to keep up to date with SteamVR on Linux. Remarkable turn of events.

@gamingonlinux I doubt it will be stand alone device like the oculus because the cpu must be x86/x64 architecture, so besides being a headset it could come with a separate device that we will have put on in our body or just an accessory for the steam deck

@migtorr the patents Valve filed already talked about a standalone mode for it, it's a headset

@gamingonlinux Yesterday I tried using my Index for the first time in way too long. Glad to one I was just a kiss early! 😄

@gamingonlinux 'tis only the beginning .. upgrading our compilers and we are doing a pass on runtime compatibility.

@gamingonlinux First time I've heard of Deckard, and now I'm interested in VR again. I have been wondering if there'll ever be a new Valve headset.
