@itsfoss Happy birthday #gnome ! I’ve been dabbling with Gnome on and off for years but it was 40 that put me over the edge into a full on addiction. 40+ and libadwaita marked when it stopped feeling like I was missing out on aesthetics or polish compared to other OSes. Sure Linux always could look nice but it was nice with work where 40+ is nice by default. Even with all my extensions I make a point not to change the look much. @itsfoss I have always preferred KDE, but there is 1 feature Gnome has that I think KDE should adopt. I like it so much, I think LXQT and Cinnamon should adopt it too. When your system needs you to impute your sudo (administrative) password, Gnome greys out everything and that password box is front and center. You have no choice except to enter the password or hit cancel. Recently, I experienced a moment with another distro and GUI that caused the password box to hide behind windows. Not Gnome @itsfoss Wow! I still remember one of the first GNOME releases, I have always preferred GNOME over the other DE. Happy birthday! @itsfoss I'm thankful that GNOME is the only DE where I get "Segmentation Fault", I love it. |
