I’m getting more and more annoyed by #Mastodon’s lack of features. I want to write things in Markdown, because it makes things such much more readable, especially when using lists. But rather than at least falling back to rendering the raw version (e.g., when I write something bold, render it as **bold** in Mastodon), it just strips it all. For lists it’s even worse, where Mastodon doesn’t show any *, doesn’t do a newline and if you have two bullet points Foo and Bar, it just displays it at “FooBar” - one line, one word even, nothing to separate it, completely unreadable. So I have to degrade the experience for everyone just because Mastodon strips all formatting rather than rendering the plain version.

Mastodon, can you please get feature parity with the rest of the Fediverse, or at least have better fallbacks?
