@J12t asked for a name to be given to the architectural style of the #Fediverse.
My thinking was:
> Communal social network: A distributed social networking architecture where the nodes or servers facilitate one or more people, who either interact with their community group or with participants in other groups that exist within the broader network. An example is the Fediverse, where nodes are called "instances".
#CommunalSocialNetwork WDYT?
@smallcircles it appears to me that architectural pattern could be applied just the same to software that isnβt really a social network. A game, for example. Or a collaboration tool. Or a wiki for a particular community etc.
