My thinking was:

@smallcircles it appears to me that architectural pattern could be applied just the same to software that isn’t really a social network. A game, for example. Or a collaboration tool. Or a wiki for a particular community etc.

@J12t true, maybe yes. But it is also about whichever concept makes claim to the name, as it were. Like with mesh.
