Recently, I discovered, that T-short in Turkish is tişort (something like teeshort). I find it very cute as the Turkish language has so many Turkish words for so many things, and here they decided to do the importing, completely loosing this T-letter-related structure along the way.😊
@turbobureaucrat I had to pick up a little Turkish when I lived out there for a while, and interestingly, I found Turkish to have a lot of loanwords but not from English, from Arabic and/or Persian. Cörap, tecereb, çadir; they're all words I know from Punjabi.
(Which makes it challenging when I try using Turkish nowadays, I keep slipping into Punjabi grammar...)
