Gregory's Server#OnThisDay, 27 July 2015, film-maker and activist Bree Newsome scaled a 30ft flagpole to remove the Confederate battle flag from South Carolina state grounds.
As well as leading to the permanent removal of the flag, her action ignited a wider debate about the impact of Confederate monuments in the States.
