@robinsyl @fen @kitsunecafe a few days ago i nuked my entire configuration.nix and i recovered in half an hour and it took me so long only because i didn't know the full config gets stored in /nix/store somewhere (ps: @kitsunecafe @gray iโm ready for this to become my life now :blobcatgoogly: @kitsunecafe SYSTEMS WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE STATE @kitsunecafe If NixOS is the Platonic ideal of a functional Linux system, then Bedrock Linux is the Platonic ideal of an imperative one. @skquinn @kitsunecafe yeah, it has a checksum for each folder (that contains the binaries) to make it possible for the reproducibility aspect of NixOS. It's also one of the reasons that there's no windows support for nix; it exceeded Windows' limit on filename length (something something backwards compatibility). @kitsunecafe I'm utterly dissapointed with this meme. Out of all funny issues and unexpected difficulties nixos could have, it pickes out on hashes and immutability, purely technical decisions that doesn't affect user expirience that much.
