Your first website is going to suck.
Your first blog post is going to suck.
Your first video is going to suck.
Your first app is going to suck.
...
.....
.
But if you keep trying 100 times, the 101st attempt will look like a work of Art.

TL;DR: Your first attempts may not be perfect, but keep trying. Perseverance is key.

@nixCraft as well, you can improve something that's bad. you cannot improve something that doesn't exist.

@nixCraft This sounds oddly like writing fiction.

@TomMarcinko @nixCraft It's just life in nutshell. Whatever you are doing, after failing enough times you'll just become better.

I was told my parents applied the same logic. :blobcatderpy:

@nixCraft been trying to build my website and write blog posts for awhile. It is about time to start.

@nixCraft this was helpful; ive been trying to learn violin and it can be a little discouraging at times.

Carlos

@nixCraft exactly what I needed to read today.

@nixCraft This. 101 times, this. The only time you should embrace the sunken cost fallacy.

@nixCraft That TL;DR applies to so much in life. 💪

@nixCraft the first step towards being good at something is to suck at something.

@nixCraft my first attempts are brilliant. This is my first comment here, for example

Alexandre Neto

@nixCraft and more importantly, start doing it! If you don't start, it will never suck, but it will never get better either.

@nixCraft
Do not cause a human to come to harm.

Whew bases covered!

@nixCraft do I just give up if my 101st still suck?

@nixCraft To expand on this, "Comparison is the thief of joy." Don't rob yourself of the joy of creating something just because someone with years or decades of experience could "do it better". They walked in the same shoes as you did, the only way they got to where they are is because they didn't fear failure, they kept working hard, and most importantly they kept learning.

Nobody is born a "natural". We all have to crawl before we walk and walk before we can run.

@nixCraft so i should just keep abandoning projects until i get to 100?

@nixCraft false, my first website was a masterpiece! It had a spinning Wu-Tang logo gif that I made myself!
